NEW YORK MEATPACKING DISTRICT
Gansevoort market
Opened in 2014, M² served as project architect for the Core & Shell phase of the original Gansevoort Market food hall in NYC’s Meatpacking District. Designed to offer patrons a wide array of options with multiple vendors helping populate a single communal seating area, M² helped guide the project through the Landmarks approval process while adapting the crumbling warehouse building’s infrastructure into a rustic but chic destination. Of particular interest are the ADA-compliant integral entry doors embedded within operable overhead glass garage doors, highlighting M²’s ability to work with vendors to achieve unique solutions to complex problems.
