Carmel Coastal in Big Little Lies

While watching Big Little Lies with my wife, I was only half-watching as Reese Witherspoon ignored her potential clients while taking a phone call in the living space of a modern-looking house with a view of the Pacific Ocean in the Carmel area in California. After a few seconds, though, I knew I had to rewind and watch it again-there was something familiar about that room. Of course, I was right-it was the living room of the Carmel Coastal House, which I worked on in 2006-2008. See the clip below. You might wonder how I recognized it with so few clues, but the high window location coupled with the sliding glass door wall overlooking the rocks below is unmistakably the same house.
